Because of our browser-based scanning approach, we collect an absolute minimum of information.

Document Content: We DO NOT collect, store, or transmit the contents of the files you scan. All scanning happens locally on your device.
Usage Data: We use basic, anonymized analytics (like Vercel Analytics) to understand how many people visit our site, which features are popular, and to detect general errors. This data does not personally identify you and cannot be linked back to your scanned documents.
Account Information: If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address and authentication details provided through our authentication providers.

2. How We Use and Share Information

We use the limited information we collect purely to operate, maintain, and improve DocShield. We do not sell, rent, or share any personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

DocShield uses essential cookies required for session management (if you log in) and fundamental site security. Our analytics tools may use anonymous tracking mechanisms, but these are strictly limited to technical site performance and broad usage metrics.

Our primary defense for your data is our architecture itself: by not collecting your documents, we eliminate the risk of database breaches exposing your sensitive files. For the limited account and analytics data we do hold, we implement industry-standard encryption and security measures.
